Exceptional Wellness Inc. will be opening a new extension of our company, and we are in need of Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselors (LCDC). We are expanding fast and looking to hire as soon as possible.
We offer both full-time and part-time hours and pride ourselves on work/life balance, allowing our counselors to create their own schedules as long as it aligns with client availability and agreement.
Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) Job Description
The Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor is responsible for providing a wide range of confidential addiction and mental health services, education, and support to individuals in the communities we serve. The counselor coordinates efforts with internal team members and external substance use/mental health agencies.
General Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for knowing, utilizing, and reviewing the 12-Core Functions as required by THHSC.
- Thorough knowledge of the Therapeutic Community concept and all of its elements.
- Ability to work well as part of an interdisciplinary team, which includes the client, recovery manager, LPC, psychosocial counselor, peer support specialist, and family members.
- Report pertinent client information to the Recovery Manager.
- Available for and participate in team meetings.
- Responsible for documenting client progress and completing all required client chart information in a timely manner.
- Knowledge of THHSC compliance guidelines as they relate to counselor functions.
- Responsible for making appropriate referrals.
- Ability to facilitate education and confrontation groups.
- Conduct individual client sessions at least twice a month.
- Other job duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Job Requirements
- Appropriate and current credentials.
- Minimum of two years of experience in the field of substance abuse.
- Thorough knowledge of 12-Step program philosophy.
- Must comply with all Exceptional Wellness Inc. policies and procedures, including the Employee Manual and Code of Ethics.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and react appropriately in stressful situations.
